Book accommodations now! July 4 is a big deal on the coast. Adding to the fun is A HUGE celebration coming to Naval Station Ingleside over the 4th July to commemorate the independence of both North and South America!! Several TALL SHIPS will be sailing into the harbor. It will be a five-day festival, featuring “Flying Clouds” from Mexico, South American countries, and the US. The US Coast Guard ship Eagle will be there. Here’s a link that will bring you “up over the transom” with great information: www.caller.com/news/2010/feb/09/tall-ships-sail-into-ingleside-july-1-5/.

INCREDIBLE ART
If you are a lover of fine wildlife art (like I am), and if you can get to Corpus Christi before 21st March, you can see some of the finest art of wild America ever created. The collection comes from the National Museum of Wildlife Art at Yellowstone (Jackson Hole, Wyoming), and features, among several incredible artists, Robert Bateman (my very favorite!!), Catlin, Bierstadt, Audubon, Ullberg, and Kuhn. I was mesmerized by the show, and went back for a second look. While you are there, you can also enjoy super fine food at the museum’s “Dobson Café”, which overlooks beautiful Corpus Christi Bay! Check out the photos taken from the café and nearby balcony. Have you ever seen such beauty! This museum is really special. Another Coastal Bend feature for you!!

ADV
We are certainly aware that the real estate market has taken its blows over the past year, and that qualifying for home loans is a little more involved nowadays; there’s increased scrutiny, which is a good thing. BUT, I also can convey to you that here in our little backwater, this lovely, rare, even precious enclave called Rockport-Fulton, sales of homes, lots and commercial properties are happening!! With rainy, cold weather subsiding, bright sunny days returning, “spring is in the air”, and there are some really fine buys here. And we have highly skilled mortgage brokers and lenders who can help you achieve your dreams.
